Warm Ups
Three of the biggest "huckers" in the World warming up at ButterMilk. (From L) Andreas Hatveit (Norway), Jon Olsson (Sweden)and Jacob Wester (Sweden). Hatveit won Gold in Slopestyle, and Olsson won Gold in Big Air and Bronze in Slopesyle. All 3 are trend setters, but Olsson is considered one of the most influential freeskiers in the game.

If these guys look tough---it's not an act. D.J. (left) is the Sr. Chief of this crew and he runs a bomb squad. Shown with him are Paul, Dave, Dutton and Mack. The Navy passed out some pretty good free stuff, caribiners, water bottles etc.

Jeep in da House
Pete Hollinshead, a Jeep executive, greets Tony Hawk at Jeep's VIP patio. When we asked Hawk if he considers himself the "Godfather" of extreme sports he simply said---"you can go with that" Mr. Hawk signed autographs at the Jeep TAG SHOP at ButterMilk. Guests got a custom painted T-Shirt or bandanna from Jeep's team of graffitti artists.

The Birdman
T. Hawk and his lovely wife Lhoste both stayed off the slopes due to the Mrs' pregnancy. Tony mentioned "Lhoste can't ride, so I'm not going up either". After 3 boys, the Hawks are looking forward to a little girl---coming soon. Congratulations to the First Family of X.

Little Brothers
Kiwi pals Jacques Morhmore and Beau-James Wells. Beau-James is the little brother of Silver medalist Jossi Wells, the first Kiwi medalist ever at Winter X. Beau-James, 11 is a big time ripper himself. He's already throwin' 1080's. They were excited to meet Tony Hawk at the Jeep booth.

Former Carbondale dude, Peter Olenick shows off his VIP credentials for the FreeSkier blowout. Despite getting several hard to come by tickets, Olenick and his posse did not show up at the party. Peter O. did not show up in the competition either---finishing without a medal.

Chairmen of the Board
Jersey Boy, Danny Kass has won seven X-games medals and 2 Olympic Silvers. He now runs his own glove company, Grenade ---when he's not shredding. Hanging with him is Eero Ettala, one of the top boarders in the world. Eero is from Helsinki, Finland where he is King of the Mountain.

Speechless
Gretchen Bleiler signed this little ripper's board and posed for pix. The local young lady was so excited that she was speechless. Her dad told us that the autographed pink board will be competing in an AVSC event next weekend. Let's hope GB's signature brings her luck.

Mountain Dew threw a huge private bash at Belly Up featuring Slightly Stoopid. Scott Lenhardt created the art for Mountain Dew's new bottle. A big one is shown here prior to the extravaganza. -

Grace Slick
R 'n' R icon Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane signed her Art Work at a special showing. When A-Spin asked her to pose for a shot, she flipped us the bird and said "that usually intimidate's people" , then she smiled and gave us the money shot and giggled "I was just fu*kin' with you". Once a rebel, always a rebel. Keep on truckin'----Grace!!

Red Bull Baby
This little Miss was lucky to be riding in Red Bull's brand new, custom made sno-cat on her way to the VIP tent at King of the Quarters.

These bad boyz drove all the way down from Laramie to drink their faces off at X. They are all students at Wyo. Tech, an automotive trade school.

17 year old Kiwi sensation Jossi Wells, almost won Gold in Slopestyle. He was barely beat out by Hatveit.

Carnage
Skier-cross is crazy. This years course was longer than usual with bigger jumps. Here's Jake Fiala from Summit county with his newly broken nose. Injuries were plentiful during this X-tream speed and strength event.

Man Down.
Frenchman Olivier Fabre was one of many skier-cross racers to ride down in a sled accompanied by the ski patrollers. 3 of the 6 racers from this semi-final heat ended up in AVH.

Chris Devlin-Young is known as the fastest man in a bucket. He placed third in Mono X at X-Games 12.

Aspen locals Suzanne Pfister and Larry Cohen braved the cold and the crowds at X-Games 12.

Jack Weinert is the man who drives the bus for the X-Games. As ESPN's Executive Director of Original Entertainment, Weinert has the final say in all things X.

King of the Quarters
Aspen Ski Co. hosted a wild, 2-day Quarter Pipe contest. The huge pipe was almost 30 feet high and guys were getting 30 feet out of the pipe-----siiiick. Here's two of the prettiest girls in town Jessica and Anne braving the sub-zero temps. -
Amplitude
Simon Dumont (in yellow) tried to set a world record in the King of Quarters. He nearly made it, but caught the lip and recieved a shoulder dis-lo for his troubles. His posse, including his brother Adam, made the trip out from Bethel Me.

Repeat Gold Medalist Sarah Burke alongside Aspen local and living legend Chris Davenport signed for the kiddies and the Smith event.

C.R. Johnson, Colby West and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa got amped up at the Smith event. West won 2 Bronze medals this year. He was channeling Travis Bickle which may have scared some of the kids. -

Aspen Spin got a one-fingered Peace sign from a drunk fan. Our security detail took care of biz.
