Powder Storm

Aspen loves to host the FIS WORLD CUP skiing events because the FIS always brings a Powder Storm with them.  US SKI Team Press Officer Doug Haney brought racers Leanne Smith and Keely Kelleher out for a taste of the POW.

U.S. Ski Team

Your Women's U.S. Ski Team , Haily Duke, Sarah Schleper, Sterling Grant and Kiley Staples.  Sarah is holding her 10 mo. old little ripper Lasse.

Speed Racer

US Ski Team Racer Megan McJames and her Dad, Scott rolled into Aspen from Park City.

Veteran World Cupper Sarah Schleper brought the whole gang to Aspen.  Brother Johnny, Mom- Meredith and little Lasse.

Ron Goldberg from Gen-Why.com flew into Aspen from Florida for World Cup.  You've got to read Chron Ron to believe it.  His buddy Bill Tomcich (right) is President of Stay/AspenSnowmass a.k.a. central reservations.  This production line is centered by the lovely Carol.

Team Klug

Brain Trust

The brains behind the US Women's Ski Team-  Jesse Hunt (Race Director), Jim Tracy (W.Head Coach), Alex Hoedlmoser (Downhill Coach) and Jeff Fergus (Technical Coach).  They welcomed the racers, their friends and families to the team reception at The Aspen Square.

Glamour Shot

Lindsey Vonn, Hailey Duke and 82 year old Connie Duke gave us a "glamour shot" at Aspen Square.  Lindsey was last years overall World Cup Champion and she's considered the most successful Women's speed skier in US history.

EuroSport TV

EuroSport TV's on-air talent are huge celeb's in Europe.  Martina Lechner (L) is a former skiing World Champion and Guido Heuber was a former World Cupper himself.   Helen Heuber (Mrs Guido) is not a ski racer, but she looks pretty darn good on film.

The Slovakian fans were super rowdy during the entire weekend.

Julia Mancuso

Julia Mancuso has it all dialed in.  When she's not on the snow competing at a world class level, she's hanging in Maui waiting for a good set.

Aspen hearts Julia

Julia Mancuso is always a fan favorite in Aspen. Underneath her elegant smile and sunny disposition lies a fierce competitive drive that resulted in an Olympic Gold Medal in Torino. Hey Julia, next time you're in Aspen --  Holla---please.

Locals?

Freddan Ricard and Christoff Rech tried to pretend they're still Euros.  They even broke out all their Euro-threads for the World Cup, but everybody knows they're Aspen locals now.

Fourth Estate Aspen

Aspen Ski Co. PR Guru, Jeff Hanle and veteran ski writer John Meyer gettin it done in the media pit at World Cup.  Hanle gave us some sage advice for covering the races "wear warm socks" he said.

The French Team was pretty stoked--just seconds after their team mate shredded into first place.

Couple Alert

America's sweetheart Lindsey Vonn and her hubby Thomas gave us an up close and personal shot.  Lindsey overcame a severely bruised knee to finish fourth in both events in Aspen, GS and Slalom.

Hometown Heroes

Casey Puckett and Chris Klug are training hard for a chance to return to Olympic glory.  Puckett (Team KJUS) is trying to set a record by making his 5th Olympic Ski Team in 2010.  Klug who already earned one Olympic medal is raising money and awareness for organ donation.  Bid on a one of a kind snow boarding package with Chris Klug at CharityBuzz.

Emcee Chris Davenport discussed the need for speed with GS champ Tessa Worley at the awards ceremony.  Tessa admitted in front of thousands "i like to go fast".

Turning Japanese

Tessa Worley became an instant celebrity after her World Cup victory.  This group of Japanese tourists cornered her, but she was thrilled to be photographed with them.

PR Pros need love too.

The PR crew from Aspen Ski Co. threw an impromtu bash for the throngs of Intenational Media in Aspen for World Cup.  The brand new Limelight Hotel provided the venue. The recently opened Limelight looks super-sweet.  Best of luck to the Paas Family.

Denied

Peter King, Aspen Mountain Manager calms an upscale guest who was upset that the Gondola is not operational.  The Bucket was shut down for mechanical reasons on Sunday and Monday.  Lets hope Tuesday is the charm, so we can ride in style.
