Click 'em all, Let God sort 'em out.2011 is starting off as a turbulent year in Aspen.   A super-sick POW day lead off a "usually quiet" week.  Plenty of polite, friendly Aussie tourists and BLUEBIRD skies greeted mid-week skiers.  As the Weekend approached, Vintage Rolling Stones, a full-on pole dancing session and  The James Bond party helped us kill time (see posting with more sick pix, below).

WinterSkol Weekend turned into a full scale jam.  The entire staff of AspenSpin.com got after it. We ran the gamut on and off the hill.  Highlights include ; Soupskol,  Crossie's Kegger, GhostLand Observatory, Nathan McEuen and Friends, Men's Health and Women's Health Swag Tents, A Backcountry Cabin Party, Night Skiing , Fireworks on Ajax (viewed from above ), First Tracks with Reggie Crist and First Ascent and NFL Playoffs.

Aspen Winterskol / ZG Shuffle

AspenSpin has done Winterskol before.  Its not our first Snowdeo.  A-Spin's take on Winterskol is very different from the ACRA version.  In the past we've reported on the pet parade, the ice sculptures, soupskol, etc ....plenty of good clean fun for sure..... but pretty vanilla.  Look for that side of the story on the "official" websites such as IsDerangedAspen and RealNewAspen etc. etc.

AspenSpin was out there this year...night and day.  Forced  to stay up past 2 a.m. by a pesky new neighbor, our editor Andy Party rolled with the thump thump thump of the bass and hit every event for Aspen's WinterSkol 2011....sanctioned or not..  Suffice to say-- there's a lot going on.

Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland declared Aspen Epic Day. 1/10/11 He backed it up on Ajax.This is the Official Press Release from The City of Aspen. Mayor Declares 'Epic' Ski Day  In light of the “epic” amount of snow that has graced Aspen’s slopes in the past 24 hours, Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland has proclaimed January 10, 2011, as an “Aspen Epic Day.” “I’m asking for locals and tourists alike to help celebrate our town and skiing/snowboarding by getting out on the slopes and enjoying one of the first true epic storms of 2011,” said Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland. “By proclaiming today ‘Aspen Epic Day,’ I hope it will encourage families, friends, employers and everyone to enable themselves and others to head to the slopes.” Mayor Ireland will officially read the proclamation tonight at the City Council meeting. About a foot of snow fell on Aspen slopes on Sunday and overnight, but Mayor Ireland says this will not be the last proclaimed “Epic Day” of 2011. His criteria for meeting the “epic” standards? A great storm followed by a bluebird day.
