The Perfect Weekend

When it's dumping A. Party always heads to Uncle Wiggley's Tree Farm.As everyone in Aspen knows, especially those in the 22-30 age demographic...going hard is a lifestyle. The past few days defined;

THE PERFECT WEEKEND. (click 4 pix).

Andy Party of AspenSpin has been known to ski every day and party every night.  This week proved again, that it can be done.  After 7 days in a row my legs finally ran out of juice,  so I took a day off to blog.  It was a great week and the perfect weekend.  Monday and Wednesday were two of the best non-POW days of the season (in my opinion).  Tuesday and Thursday were warm and overcast with very flat light.  Friday served up the kind of ski day that I love so much.  It snowed hard and heavy all day.  You couldn't see sh*t...unless you stayed in the trees (which I did).  It was a fantazmo day in the woods...not too many people around either, Ajax was empty.  Fresh tracks all day...with free re-fills.  It kept snowing into the night.  Flights were f*#ked up.  All told we're calling it a full 12" of freshies a.k.a  A footy.   Saturday morning broke clear and sunny.  A. Party despite a drought of lactic acid showed up in line at 8.15.  Fresh POWDER and bluebird skies are a powerful combination.

Throw in the spring break crowd.  The Blitzenbanger Bash from KSPN (it's 45th year I believe) the #freeskierfest a full-on stag party and on Sunday morning legit bagels and lox flown in from NYC and  you  pretty much have it all.  The perfect weekend.

Heavy Snow all day Friday begat a perfect bluebird POW day on Saturday.KSPN's 45 the annual Blitzenbanger Bash brought out the partiers.A full scale stag party in Aspen. What else is new??

Next Thursday, MARCH 13, Chaka Khan one of the greatest soul singers of all-time takes the stage at Belly Up, Aspen.   Every time a 10 time GRAMMY WINNER shows up in Aspen, I prepare to go huge.

The Buddy Program & Richard and Nancy Rogers/ Mary Kay Inc present Chaka Khan in concert to benefit The Buddy Program and The Chaka Kahn Foundation.

Ms Khan, the Queen of Funk and her former band mates in Rufus made quite an impression on an impressionable youth growing up in Detroit, a.k.a--- me.  Click the video below the poster to see what I mean.   So get ready for a fantastic evening to benefit The Buddy Program and The Chaka Kahn Foundation.

Aspen Laff Fest 2014

Big Laughs in Aspen for Aspen Laff Fest 2014.   Nationally known comics flock to Aspen every February to try out their comedic stylings at 7,908 ft.  Equiped with oxygen and a quiver of jokes...the stand-ups come to Aspen to crush it on the stage at The Historic Wheeler Opera House.   3 days of top-flight comedy...yeah sign me up.

The stellar Line-up for Aspen Laff Fest 2014 included Josh Blue, Andy Hendrickson, Sean Kent, Tom Papa and Colorado's own HippieMan.

Bootsy Bellows blows the roof off Aspen

The Aspen club scene, always hyper-competitive, just has a new BIG TIME baller at the top of the list.

Bootsy Bellows Aspen, an off-shoot of the famous West Hollywood Club owned by David Arquette and pals has set up in Aspen.  The West just got a lot wilder and Restaurant Row in Aspen may never be the same. Situated in the former Syzygy space (very posh) just beneath Ute City Grill at 308 E. Hyman, Bootsy Bellows Aspen has immediately imposed it's formidable presence on Aspen's night-life.

Bootsy's is intimate and classy.  They bring in celebrity DJ's, celebrity bar-tenders and best of all celebrity clientele.  Most importantly for Aspen... the hottest chicks and the richest guys have been populating the VIP banquettes at Bootsy's since the place opened on New Year's.  David Arquette and The Hollywood group were in town to help kick-off the bacchanalia.

The most desireable people in Aspen always hit Bootsy Bellows.  The L.A. players aren't always in Colorado (it is awards season) so Bootsy Bellows Aspen has a kick-a$$ staff to handle all your night-life needs.   Chief doorman Kim Hanson keeps the flow going at all times.  The best way to experience Bootsy Bellows Aspen is to "step up" and go for bottle services.  I'm not sure of the price list...but it this ain't Kansas...so be prepared to spend.   Rip some hundy's off your roll, cash in your T-bills or just do it the old fashioned way...slap down the plastic...but get yourself in the private seating next to the dance floor.  

Luckily, A. Party has some pull at the door...but it's advised to arrive at Bootsy Bellows early.  Better yet schedule a dinner because once the avalanche of partying starts...it does not stop.  Bootsy Bellows goes hard all night (till 2 a.m.).  Whether you're looking for a hot young thing in a barely there skirt or a distinguished hedge fund manager who works out...Bootsy's has it.  As far as places to see and be seen in Aspen....Bootsy Bellows is the top spot of the moment.

Aspen: For the Love of Dumps

A.Party in his element.It's been a fantastic ski season so far in Aspen.  The best in 5 years.  We hit the mid-point of the season with over 15 feet of snow having fallen. Recently we've had some super siiiiiiiick days.  Especially yesterday...and the day before that...and the day before that.  You get the picture.

It's dumping heavily right now...and we love it.

Henry's...directly under the 1a lift line. My favorite run...especially when no one is riding the lift.Newly opened and marked terrain on Ajax. You have to find it to ski it.We call this the Party Line on the Back of Bell. Maybe not the steepest pitch...but I'm usually first to schralp it.
