Stefan: A man and a store.
Former Olympian Stefan Kaelin closed his namesake store early in order to throw a season ending party for his staff and his clientele. Stefan cooked up traditional Swiss cheese sando's for everyone. His wife and co-host Stascha (eyes closed) welcomed Ajax patroller Art Nerbonne.

Hello, I'm (fake) Johnny Cash
Cash'd Out, a Johnny Cash tribute band played hard and partied harder. Anybody who attended this super- rowdy show will readily admit that it was "one of the best" concerts of the year at Belly Up.
-
Ring of Fire
Cash'd Out played and played and played ---to the delight of the heavily inebriated crowd.
-
I hear that train a comin'
If you closed your eyes, Cash'd out sounded like the real thing. After another 15" POW day---we had our eyes closed----- a lot.

Serious Competition
17 teams lined up at The Aspen Club for the first ever Aspen Dodge Ball Tournament. Aspenites take their competition seriously, and dodge ball is no exception. This photo attempts to capture the speed and the fury ----that is Aspen dodge ball.
-
Team Meeting
The Aspen Club's guest services team, The Ball Busters, holding the trophy that they didn't win. Their motto: "The Customer is always Wrong". They were just kidding because this team is composed of the most friendly crew in town. Erin Robinson (third from left) conceptualized and planned the tourney. She learned to dodge and to ball at Michigan State!!!
-
Silver Medal
The Little Nell put together a "stacked" team of D-Ball veterans, but they eventually lost out in the finals to the Mother Puckers. Chuck Butler (far left) played his a$$ off but could not lead his team past the Mother Puckers.
-

On paper, the Aspen Daily News team looked exceptionally strong. In actual competition, they were defeated handily. However, as promised they did perform up to expectations during the party.
-
The Brackets

-
Get Physical
Olympic medal winning snow boarder Chris Klug is normally one of the nicest guys in town. Here he's about to pelt a defenseless opponent with a rocket toss. Klug's team was the clear pre-tournament favorite, but they were ousted by eventual champs the Mother Puckers.
-
1 2 3 Dodgeball.
These people were not fooling around.
-
Serious biz.
Robin Fox fed balls to the big guns. Chris Klug and K-Tel were winging it hard and heavy.
-
Aerodynamics
One of the top athletic trainers in town, The Aspen Club's Bill Fabrocini used an aero-dynamic sprinters stance in an attempt to get an edge.
-
Mother Puckers take the Gold
The Mother Puckers (in white) looked kind of small and scraggily on the side lines. Other squads had bigger, stronger, more athletic looking line-ups, and way, way fancier uniforms. In the end, the underdog Mother Puckers ( the State Champion ladies hockey team) took home the hardware.
-
Medic !!
The Aspen Valley Hospital team had a chance to win it all until injuries took their toll. That deep thigh bruise is probably much more colorful today.
-
Need a tissue?
This life-style shot of a well known local's pantry made us laugh---so here it is.

-
White Hot
Cathy, Chet and Debbie did not want the best season ever to end. Chet worked his last show at the Crystal Palace after spending 28 years at the famed dinner theatre. The good news is, he'll still be rockin' the Powder Tours next season.
