British Invasion

At Aspen Spin we like to dress British; but think Yiddish.  So we were pleased to cover the grand  opening of 1637062-1347665-thumbnail.jpg

the new BURBERRY store in Aspen.  Housed in the historic Ute Bank Building at the corner of Hyman and Galena (501 E. Hyman), Burberry entered the Aspen retail scene with a lavish tea and fashion event for Aspen's most exclusive taste makers.  The dancers from the ASPEN/SANTA FE Ballet were on hand to model Burberry's Prorsum Womenswear Collection, and to show off their "rock hard" figures.   It was difficult--- but we schussed down AJAX, showered up and took it all in.

The fasionistas didn't seem to care much about food (at least in public), so there were plenty of watercress sando's and salmon bellini's to go around.  The extravagant tea-time event showcased the beautifully restored retail space that housed the biggest bank in Aspen in the 1890's.  The original vault door and restored tin ceiling are incorporated into the traditional, yet contemporary store design.

Shopping at Burberry's Aspen will be a world-class experience and the store carries their latest Men's and Women's collections.   But, ladies........... bring your sugar daddy's with you (or at least bring their plastic personality cards), because it's not easy bein' Chic.    Click here for the British Invasion Pix.
